Lana Elanor, Founder of FontsQueen

My name is Lana Elanor. I am a font designer who loves to design fonts and use them in my designs. I enjoy the process of designing fonts, from sketching out ideas on paper to testing different letterforms for their visual qualities. So far, I have designed over 100 typefaces that are available at Creative Market.

My favorite part about the design process is seeing how my vision comes alive when it’s converted into an actual font file with all its ligatures and kerning pairs.

I was born and raised in New York City, but now I live with my wife and two kids in Los Angeles.
I love typography, design, music (especially the Grateful Dead), movies, travel, food…pretty much anything that’s awesome.

My favorite things about type are the endless possibilities for creating new letterforms through drawing or designing them on a computer screen. It’s also really cool to see how different typefaces can be used together to create the perfect look for your project.

One thing that is important to keep in mind when designing your own custom font is that the letters should not be too similar to each other. The letters should also be legible from far away, but still look nice up close. If you want your typeface to look good on screen as well as printed out then you should use high contrast between thin and thick lines as well as curves or angles in different directions with different heights and weights of the line.
