The idea of this project was to create a totally new type of family specially designed for video content. This is where Youtube Sans comes in: designed to be read at small sizes in paragraphs of text on the screen while still being legible when scaled up to larger sizes as logos or headlines.

The Youtube Sans family of fonts is an original design and the first open-source type family to be commissioned specifically for the web. It is based on a humanist structure with subtle modulations which provide a range of weights and styles that are both functional and elegant in equal measure.
