Times New Roman font is an old-style serif typeface that was created by Stanley Morison and Victor Lardent in 1932. It is used in many desktop computers and is based on an old sans-serif font Plantin Font. It was originally commissioned by The Times newspaper as part of a modernization of its production under editor Geoffrey Dawson.

Times New Roman is similar to Albertus but differs in that its capitals have straight sides whereas Albertus’s have curved sides. Over the years it has since been adapted for use in a number of other formats, including books, newspapers, magazines, and screen-based media.
